Majority of Britons do not think we should pay ransom money for hostages

Despite the horrific killings of hostages at the hands of Isis in recent weeks, the majority of Britons still agree the government should not give in to ransom demands.

David Cameron reiterated the stance this week that Britain will not pay ransoms for hostages overseas even though many European governments do and a survey by YouGov has found that both in principle, and in direct regard to British hostages, 68 per cent of Britons agree with him.
