Mother catches her son protesting in Baltimore, gives him the telling off of his life

A state of emergency has been declared in Baltimore after the funeral of Freddie Gray - a man who died from an extreme spinal injury after being arrested.

As the Independent's David Usborne, reporting from Baltimore, explains: "Hundreds of mostly teenage African-Americans began a frenzied rampage, throwing rocks at police lines and torching police vehicles and some buildings."

Although perhaps the unrest would have been pacified quicker if all the protesters' mothers had been out in force like this one:

According to local station WMAR, the woman recognised her son on television and so decided to head down to the front line of the riot to give him a piece of her mind (and of her palm), in front of the large crowds.
