Nikki Haley said Jared Kushner was a 'hidden genius', so everyone made the same joke

Nikki Haley has announced that she will be stepping down as the United States ambassador to the UN.

The unexpected announcement came during a sit-down press conference with Donald Trump in the Oval Office.

Also present were Ivanka Trump, who people have speculated might replace her in the role, and her husband Jared Kushner.

We really don't want to speculate on the potential debacle that Ivanka might create if she lands such a role, but Haley managed to distract everyone by praising the "hidden genius" of Kushner.

I can’t say enough good things about Jared and Ivanka [Trump].

Jared is such a hidden genius that no one understands.

To redo the NAFTA deal the way he did.

What I’ve done working with him on the Middle East peace plan ... it is so unbelievably well-done.

Now, we'd hate to comment on Kushner's overall intelligence, but to call him a 'hidden genius' might be a bit of stretch.

Once Haley's quotes made their way to Twitter, everyone started to make the same joke about Ivanka's husband potential links to the ongoing Russia investigation.

Others started to ask whether 'hidden genius' is the same as 'stable genius'.

Kushner's time in the White House has been a little tumultuous.

Besides the aforementioned Russia investigation, he had seen his security status restricted by the FBI while they conducted background checks.

There has also been speculation that both he and Ivanka would like to return to New York City, which would be possible if Ivanka lands the UN ambassador role.
