Footage of a 61-year-old white man attacking a police officer is going viral, with many people highlighting the racist double standard it shows within policing.

Luke Alvin Oeltjenbruns was arrested and charged with a first-degree assault after driving away with the cop still on the car and is allegedly hitting him on the head with a hammer, according to FOX 9.

This follows after the police answered a call about an incident at a nearby hardware store after Oeltjenbruns refused to wear a mask inside and assaulted an employee with a piece of wood.

People online highlighted that Oeltjenbruns was neither shot, tased or sustained any injuries after his altercation with the police, despite the incident taking place about an hour away from where Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old Black man was shot dead by a Brooklyn Centre police officer, Kim Potter on 11th April.

It is also stark in comparison to the Chicago police shooting dead a 13-year-old boy Adam Toledo, who was complying with police requests. Shocking body camera footage of the incident was released showing the death of the unarmed teenager.
