A Republican activist went on an extremely bizarre rant about Barack Obama at a recent event in South Carolina, labelling him a "Communist dictator" who had tried to "nuke" the US.

Virginia Eleasor, who described herself as "a retired schoolteacher" and "lifelong political activist", addressed former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum at the South Carolina National Security Action Summit last week.

The woman, at times shouting, said she was "concerned with sealing these borders and protecting the United States" but feared she was losing "that battle" and wanted the GOP to do something about it.

Why is the Congress rolling over and letting this Communist dictator destroy my country? Y'all know what he is and I know what he is. I want him out of the White House. He's not a citizen. He could've been removed a long time ago...

Everything he does is illegal. He's trying to destroy the United States. The Congress knows this. What kind of games is the Congress of the United States playing with the citizens of the United States?

After listening to her rant for a good minute and a half Santorum tried to interject (perhaps to point out that he actually isn't a senator any more), but the activist continued unabated:

Obama tried to blow up a nuke in Charleston a few months ago and the three admirals and generals. He has totally destroyed our military.

He has fired all the generals and all the admirals who said they wouldn't fire on the American people if they ask them to do so if he wanted to take the guns away from them. This man is a Communist dictator.

(According to Bloomberg, the allegation that Obama had tried to "nuke" Charleston probably stemmed from a wildly elaborate internet rumour that surfaced about 15 months ago.)

Eventually able to answer her (after what sounded like someone wrestling with her to take the microphone), Santorum said he agreed with her that Republicans had "shown a complete lack of leadership" in allowing Obama to take executive action in regards to immigration law.

He did something that... the word tyrant comes to mind. The president does not have the authority to do this...

When all the leaders of Congress, both Democrat and Republican, saw the president do this, they should have recognised how serious this was.

According to Right Wing Watch, another attendee at the summit later told Santorum that Obama was an “Iranian plant” who is working with Valerie Jarrett (one of his senior advisers) to aid the Iranian regime.

God bless America.
