These are the ten universities in the UK with the happiest students

The British universities that offer the best student experience have been revealed in a poll published today.

More than 15,000 undergraduates were quizzed about 21 areas of student life, including the structure of the courses, the quality of the library and community atmosphere.

Here are the institutions that passed with flying colours in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey:

The Top Ten:

1. University of Loughborough

2. Harper Adams University

3. University of Sheffield

4. University of Oxford

5. University of Bath

6. University of Leeds

7. University of East Anglia

8. Newcastle University

9. University of Cambridge

10. Keele University

University of Loughborough achieved the top score out of 100, with 86.2, followed by Harper Adams University (85.8) and University of Sheffield (85).

The best university for a good social life was University of Leeds, Newcastle University, University of Sheffield, and Cardiff University, all achieving joint first position.

The University of Oxford came top for the 'high quality staff/lectures' measure, while University of Loughborough placed first for 'high quality facilities’.
