Nasa astronaut captures mesmerising videos of thunderstorms from International Space Station

An astronaut on the International Space Station has captured a series of short videos showing what thunderstorms look like from above.

Terry Virts, a Nasa astronaut and colonel in the US Air Force, caught the footage above Mexico and the Ozarks region of the southern states on Saturday.



After the excitement of the electrical storms, Virts then took time out to wish his mother a happy birthday:
