This is who Ukip has allied with in the European parliament

Ukip has formed an alliance in the European parliament with Polish MEP Robert Iwaszkiewicz, whose party leader has previously said there is no evidence Hitler knew about the Holocaust.

This doesn't seem to concern Nigel Farage, who announced the new member of his Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy (EFDD) group yesterday, saying

To paraphrase Mark Twain 'Rumours of our death have been greatly exaggerated.' The Eurosceptics are now back with a bang, indeed we have never been away.

The deal with the Congress of the New Right MEP will save the EFDD group following the departure of Latvian MEP Iveta Grigule last week. In the European parliament groups are used to secure positions on committees and to receive funding.

The EFDD now has 25 MEPs from seven countries - more than half of whom are from Ukip - which will guarantee funding from the European parliament.

Iwaszkiewicz is a member of the Congress of the New Right, whose outspoken leader Janusz Korwin-Mikke criticised the "holocaust industry" when discussing efforts of Jews to gain property stolen during the Second World War in an interview with the Jewish Chronicle published today. He went on to say:

Jews are very talented people, and therefore are our worst enemies, because they are talented communists. This is why the Poles have a specific image of Jews. They don’t know the real Jews, only the Communists ones who stayed here.

In the past Korwin-Mikke has said women should not be allowed to vote, while Iwaszkiewicz has previously said domestic violence could "help bring many wives back down to earth" - comments he later said were sarcastic.
