This horrifying viral photo of Donald Trump isn't what it seems

In the past few days, you may have noticed an image of Donald Trump pop up frequently on your Twitter timeline.

The image looks like the president is collapsing in upon himself, as if a black hole has opened up in his mind, causing him to look a bit more hideous than normal, with the odd strand of straggly hair flailing wildly in the wind.

You've probably already guessed it but this isn't a real picture but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. The image was created by the video and image creator Vic Berger IV, who is well worth a follow on Twitter if you like your Trump criticism skewering more towards the weird side of the spectrum. The original photo was taken from a Trump rally in Minnesota in October 2019 but we would say that Berger's edits have only improved it.

Berger shared the picture on his Facebook page on June 30 but it has since become a meme in its own right:

Speaking to Gizmodo, Berger confirmed that he had made some edits but might have actually done the president a favour.

Yes, it’s true I did use photoshop on that image of Mr. Trump, but only to adjust the levels a bit and remove blemishes. He had about 5 or 6 inflamed, pus-filled whiteheads around his lips that I covered up digitally.

Others have since sent Berger their own images of Trump and it just goes to show that when it comes to the president, it's hard to tell what is real and what is fake.

Earlier this year, an image of the president sporting an incredibly orange face was ridiculed on social media which lead to Trump claiming that the picture was fake.
