Most commuters spend their time trying to avoid each other, but not at rush hour this morning in Perth, Australia.

In an amazing show of straphanger solidarity, CCTV footage uploaded to YouTube shows passengers pushing a train in order to free a man who has his leg stuck between the carriage and the platform.

According to ABC News, an ambulance was called but the trapped man was not taken to hospital as he did not sustain any serious injuries.

This is not the first time something of this nature has happened. Japanese commuters helped free a woman stuck between a train and a platform on the Tokyo rail network in July last year.
