Thousands sign petition to make Danny DeVito the next Wolverine

We all know Danny DeVito as the evil Penguin from 1992 Batman Returns or the grumpy half-human, half-goat trainer Phil from Hercules and now apparently Wolverine from X-Men?

Well, not really - but thousands of fans really want him to be. A change.org petition to get Danny Devito to play the mutant wolf superhero in Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe has received over 30,000 signatures and does not seem to be slowing down.

The petition was created over two weeks ago and called "Have Danny DeVito play the rebooted Wolverine in the MCU". The fan behind it wrote:

Danny DeVito is the only man able to take the throne after Hugh Jackman. We believe that if Wolverine is to make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that the only man able to pull it off is Danny DeVito.

It initially had a goal of only 25,000 signatures, which has now been exceeded, to which the fan wrote an update, saying:

I see the petition blew up again!... We have passed many milestones on our journey to greatness!!...Soon we may have what we want.

Hugh Jackman, who played the character between 2000-2017, decided to leave the Wolverine claws behind in 2017 because he didn't want to drag the franchise out any longer.

Apperantly a petition wasn't enough, as fans have flocked online to even post parody videos and pictures of DeVito as Wolverine for all to enjoy.
