Boston Robotics has perfected its backflipping robot

When robots inevitably take over the world, it's going to be with some serious parkour style.

Boston Dynamics thought it would be a good idea to give robots some mad gymnastic skills, paving the way for them to become cooler than us as well as smarter, for some reason.

At least our eventual downfall by the cold, metal hands of truly superior beings will look fabulous.

Here is the flip in GIF form if you want to watch it again. And again. And again.

As the robot - named Atlas, by the way - hops around like some mad metal squatting enthusiast, it looks almost adorable.

That is until you imagine those powerful thighs propelling the six-foot-nine-inches of hulking humanoid towards you, closer and closer.

This might be the end of days for humanity. And Atlas is loving it.
