Yesterday the world was treated to the first look of Henry Cavill in the forthcoming Netflix series The Witcher.
For those that aren't aware, The Witcher is based on a franchise of very popular video games and novels by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.
The stories follower a 'witcher' called Geralt of Rivia, a grey-haired mountain-of-a-man who hunts monsters and has supernatural abilities.
At first glance, it would appear that Cavill fits the part, but fans of the series aren't so impressed with this incarnation of Geralt.
Almost immediately after the footage was released, people began mocking the outfit, mostly for its bad wig, which earned comparisons to other fictional characters.
Here are some of the best reactions.

However, as some fans pointed out this series is based on the novels where Geralt is a younger man, so maybe cool it on the jokes (no matter how funny they are).
I know people are hating on this, but if they're starting with a young Geralt, I don't mind it. https://t.co/IkIf2bJLbK— Brian Shea (@Brian Shea) 1541000945
Still, at least they aren't having to digitally remove a moustache.
Disappointed to see that Henry Cavill isn't rocking his Mission: Impossible — Fallout moustache in that first look… https://t.co/OzvxsRIPn9— Chris Hewitt (@Chris Hewitt) 1541060589
