Here's what Emilia Clarke has to say about that penis on Game of Thrones

Warning: This article contains spoilers, penises, and other Game of Thrones-y things.

Emilia Clarke went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday to talk about Game of Thrones and nude scenes, because it seems like the two go hand-in-hand.

Discussing the latest episodes, in which her flameproof character Daenerys Targaryen emerges from a burning tent filled with her foes, her clothes having been burnt off her, Clarke praised the nude scene as a different context to ones she had previously acted in:

For me, I did it before in season one and people like to talk about it, so I just wanted to come out and do an empowered scene which wasn't sexual. It was naked, but it was strong. I'm kicking ass naked. If you can do it without any clothes, then you're a real badass.

She also praised the show for displaying what Colbert called "the introduction of a new character - the penis":

I mean, I did it. Why can't the boys do it? I think they heard me! Junk equality!

Clarke had previously called for a redressing of a nudity balance in the show, claiming that men are shown naked for humour, while women are sexualised, telling The Late Late Show:

I feel like there's a little bit of inequality between the amount of nudity that happens with women — this woman, in particular — and that happens with the other guys. I just think that should be even.

However, the most recent episode's penis - that of a stage actor examining his member for genital warts - is not the first time a penis has been displayed on the show, as Vulture has detailed, arguing there have been up to seven before.

The debate rages on like the battle for Westeros.
