John Oliver seemingly predicted Meghan Markle’s struggles with the royal family three years ago

John Oliver seemingly predicted the emotional struggle Meghan Markle would endure joining the royal family.

In an interview three years ago, the comedian gave his opinion on the upcoming wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan, and did not seem too enthusiastic about it.

Speaking onLate Show, Oliver said: “I would not blame her if she pulled out of this at the last minute.

“I don’t think you need to have just seen the pilot episode of The Crown to get a basic sense of she might be marrying into a family that could cause her some emotional complications.”

Pressed on whether The Crown was dramatised fiction based loosely on real events, Oliver agreed before issuing a warning.

He said: “ I mean, they’re an emotionally stunted group of fundamentally flawed people doing a very silly pseudo job. That’s what she’s marrying into. So I hope she likes it. It’s going to be weird for her.”

The old clip resurfaced following the broadcast of Prince Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah, in which the couple accused the royal family of racism, and failing to defend them against lies printed in tabloids.

Meghan revealed she had felt lonely whilst living at the Palace, only leaving twice in four months during her pregnancy with Archie, and contemplated suicide.

More: Meghan saying she had suicidal thoughts during Oprah interview was more than revealing. It was heartbreaking.
