Who’s in Season 2 of Netflix’s The Circle’— from the oldest contestant so far, to an ex-reality star

It’s about that time again! Netflix’s The Circle will be gracing the streaming service on Wednesdays this April.

The Circle, based on the UK television series of the same name, was released on January 1, 2020.

The show chronicles a group of isolated people in their own apartments. They can only communicate with other contestants via The Circle, a computer program that transcribes their messages into texts similar to a social media platform. They don’t meet face to face during the competition, which adds to the intrigue.

Contestants can present themselves with entirely different identities to hopefully win each over. Additionally, the contestants are asked to rate each other, with the top contestants with the most votes becoming the “Influencers” of the circle. It gives them the autonomy to “block” one contestant from the circle, eliminating them from the game.

The blocked contestants are eliminated from the game. However, they are allowed to meet a player in person who’s still in the game. Also, a video message is shown to the remaining contestants to reveal if the person was real or a catfish.

In the finale, the person who becomes the highest-rated player wins and takes home US$100,000. The person who was Fan Favorite earned $10,000.

Essentially, this is an interesting take on the power of influence and the ability to make a whole identity for yourself online that is hard not to watch.

Who won the first season of The Circle?

Joey Sasso was the winner, receiving $100,000. Shubham Goel was runner-up. Sammie Cimarelli was the Fan Favorite and earned $10,000.

Honorable mention: Seaburn Williams posed as “Rebecca” by using his girlfriend’s photos.

When is the second season of The Circle airing?

The show will air on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

How long will the show run for?

The four-week-long event will have 13 episodes that are broken down as the following:

  • April 14: Episodes 1-4
  • April 21: Episodes 5-8
  • April 28: Episodes 9-12
  • May 5: Finale

What can viewers expect?

According to Netflix, we can expect to see more dark moments, twists and turns within the 13 episodes. Eight new contestants will be entering The Circle, where they have the opportunity to annoy, befriend and flirt with one another as they compete against each other.

Who will be on the show?

This season will have a very unique cast with people ranging from all ages and parts of the world. You may even recognize Chloe, who appeared on Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle!

Check out the following list of the eight starting castmates:

  • Bryant, 27, from Chico, California
  • Courtney, 28, from Los Angeles, California
  • Deleesa, 32, from The Bronx, New York
  • Jack, 20, from New Haven, Connecticut
  • Lee, 58, from Dallas, Texas
  • Savannah, 25, from Los Angeles, California
  • Terilisha, 34, from Dallas, Texas
  • Chloe, 22, from Essex, United Kingdom

“We wanted people from lots of different backgrounds. Other reality shows, whether it’s ‘Real Housewives’ or ‘Jersey Shore,’ they’re all one gang of quite similar characters. What ‘The Circle’ gave us the opportunity to do was cast a very diverse net across the United States,” executive producer Tim Harcourt told Variety,

Moreover, roughly 20 to 25 people are in the clear to participate in the show, but it only starts with eight cast members. When someone gets blocked or voted out, a new contestant is then able to enter the game. Producers then have the responsibility of deciding who to fly out to replace the person who left the show.
