Fans are very disturbed by how much Gillian Anderson sounds like Margaret Thatcher in The Crown

In terms of the entertainment world this year, there hasn't been anything much more shocking and divisive than the casting of Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher.

The X-Files and Sex Education actor will be playing possibly the most controversial British prime minister ever in the fourth season of The Crown on Netflix.

Now we've already documented just how shocked and 'sexually confused' some people were at the sight of Anderson dressed as Thatcher but is she actually going to be convincing in the role?

Well, judging by the newest trailer for the show we would say that she is very convincing as the Tory who served as prime minister from 1979 to 1990.

Anderson, who was born in London, appears to have nailed the monotone drawl that Thatcher perfected and is possibly still giving numerous nightmares to this day. Needless to say, people are shaken.

Whether we can firmly say that Anderson's version of Thatcher is better than the one that won Meryl Streep an Oscar her performance in The Iron Lady remains to be seen but we'll all be able to make up our own mind when The Crown arrives on Netflix on November 15.
