Last night, the cult British goth rockers The Cure were inducted into the prestigious Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.
They were inducted by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, before the Cure's frontman Robert Smith gave an honest and heartfelt speech where he thanked those that had helped the band during their 40-year career.
The band are best known for their melancholic and downbeat songs such as 'Boys Don't Cry', 'Just Like Heaven' and 'Friday, I'm in Love' and Smith's unique outlook on the world was on full display on the red carpet.
As always with these type of events, the group had to do the standard red carpet chat to the cameras but when the bubbly and upbeat interviewer asked Smith if he was excited about being inducted he gave the perfect answer.
The interviewer asked him:
Are you as excited as I am?
And, in a dead-pan way, he said:
By the sounds of it, no.
