Disturbing video sees The Rock taste his own blood after a gym accident

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has shared a disturbing video of himself on Instagram with blood pouring from his head after a gym accident.

The Hollywood star and former wrestler explained that he had been hit in the face with a chain during a workout and that he would need to have stitches.

However, in a strange moment, he wipes the blood that was trickling down his temple and licks it from his finger. In the video the 48-year-old said:

Alright, look. Sometimes — well, oftentimes, things get intense here in the Iron Paradise, but we ain't playing tiddlywinks and we ain't reciting nursery rhymes. Alright, you get lumped up every once in a while and things happen.

Then, as he tastes his own blood, Johnson adds:

That's good. That's real good. Back to work.

Johnson explained in a bit more detail as to what had happened to him and joked about what his blood tastes like.

We ain’t playin’ tiddlywinks and we ain’t reciting nursery rhymes - it’s called the #ironparadise for a reason and things get extremely intense. Threw around my 50lb chains for a drop set - I got lumped up and need stitches

Taste your blood, keep training and stitch up later - rules of the house. And I can confirm my blood tastes like Teremana, calluses and BlaMoan (black and samoan) Hot Sauce.

Have a productive week, my friends - keep it light and a lil’ fun, but get after it like a MF.

History would suggest that Johnson is used to his own blood as he bled several times during his run as WWE superstar and that adrenaline is still clearly running through his veins.

The star, who is currently filming the Netflix movie Red Notice with Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, also has several other upcoming productions in the works including the DC superhero movie Black Adam.

Elsewhere, he's had quite a year as he and his family have overcome Covid-19, has endorsed Joe Biden for president and even had to tear his own electric gates from his house after a power outage.
