This is what Sarah Palin has to say about American Sniper

The Clint Eastwood-directed biopic of American sniper Chris Kyle, named um American Sniper, has broken box office records but also polarised opinion in the US.

Fahrenheit 9/11 director Michael Moore said that snipers should never be glorified, while Seth Rogen, whose latest film The Interview caused a major diplomatic incident, likened it to a fictitious Nazi propaganda film.

This has led to an angry counter-reaction on the American right, with figures such as Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich jostling to be at the forefront.

  • Bradley Cooper has been nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of the eponymous Chris Kyle

Former speaker of the House and Republican presidential candidate Gingrich tweeted that Moore should spend a few weeks with Isis and Boko Haram.

Palin, the former governor of Alaska and John McCain's running-mate in the 2008 presidential election, accused Hollywood of "spitting on the graves of freedom fighters".
