These Argentinians didn't take their loss to Croatia very well

Last night Argentina's World Cup hope was left in tatters after they shockingly lost 3-0 to Croatia in their second group game.

Despite having numerous world-class players in the squad like Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain, La Albiceleste have dramatically underperformed in Russia thus far.

Jorge Sampaoli's men could only draw their first game 1-1 with Iceland the humbling defeat to Croatia has virtually confirmed their elimination from the tournament.

They now need Nigeria to beat Iceland today and then beat Nigeria in their last group game on Tuesday to stand even a remote chance of qualifying for the next round.

Such has been the devastation of this result the Argentine media and pundits have reacted, shall we say, dramatically?

Argentinian legend Osvaldo Ardilles has called the team the "worst selection in Argentina's history."

Elsewhere Diego Maradona was moved to tears.

However, the most OTT reaction undoubtedly belongs to the team at the Argentine sports channel TyC Sports who decided to hold a literal minute's silence, as if someone had died.​
