School sends parents a hilarious letter of complaint after their son invented a character called 'Wildo the Dildo'

A boy and his friends invented an imaginary character with a hilarious name. Unfortunately, their school didn't see the funny side.

But his mother's partner did. Paul Hunt, of Taunton, received a letter of complaint from the school.

Apparently, the playground staff had heard the ten-year-old using an undeniably hysterical name:

Wildo the Dildo.

They weren't best pleased.

Hunt found the letter so ridiculous that he posted it on Twitter, where it predictably went viral.

Although this is not a behaviour letter as such, I am writing to inform you of something that has come to our attention and that you may wish to discuss further with [the child].

[Name] and a few of his friends often make up characters, give them amusing names and then they have exciting adventures at playtimes.

This in itself is an imaginative and creative pastime and causes no harm.

However, it has come to our attention that one of the characters has the name 'Wildo the Dildo' and this has, I am sure you can understand, raised some concerns with us.

On further discussion, none of the children said they knew what it meant, but were aware that it was an inappropriate word to be using.

One of the children said they picked up the word on the playground, so we will be following this up further and dealing with accordingly.

I hope you can appreciate the reason I am informing you of this matter and please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss it further.

Hunt also commented:

We were already aware of what had happened because he'd told us about it the previous day. We were surprised to receive a letter about it though

He had no idea what the word meant. He was mortified that he'd used it and was not going to use it again anyway so there was no need for a conversation.

We were surprised that the teachers had thought it necessary to write the letter at all, let alone be explicit about what the word was.

So yes, we certainly did have a good laugh about it.
