The infamous Lib Dem disco took place in Bournemouth this week. Forget the preamble, let's get to the good stuff.
Namely, Paddy Ashdown throwing shapes to Daft Punk...
He wasn't the only one, either. The annual event always features a plethora of MPs and parliamentary figures cutting loose to the cheesiest tracks the 90s can offer.
Take MP for Cambridge Julian Huppert for example:
The event is considered the unofficial highlight of the Lib Dem conference, and has become something of Westminster legend since its inception.
The battle of the DJs was contested between Lib Dem leader on the London Assembly Caroline Pidgeon, former MP for East Dunbartonshire Jo Swinson, Portsmouth councillor Gerald Vernon Jackson, MP for Orkney and Shetland Alistair Carmichael and former Leader of the party, Paddy Ashdown.
The fierce contest was won by Jo Swinson.
Tickets to the disco were, during a pre-conference sale available at two for £15, and never fear if you missed it this year - it doesn't look like a tradition that's going away.
We love politics.
