NASA’s latest images from the Mars Rover have people convinced that aliens actually exist.
Taking to their official Twitter account (@NASAPersevere), NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover shared a series of snaps to their 2.8 million followers.
One of the photos showcased a patch of rock with the surface layer removed to offer closer inspection.
A visible tiny white speck has since sent social media into overdrive after one curious Twitter user questioned what it was pointing to – or whether it was simply “just a small white triangular speck in the rock.”
Naturally, his observation prompted many more social media speculations.

@NASAPersevere I'm curious, is this small white arrow pointing at anything interesting? Or is it just a small white… https://t.co/BfxLOxk5iB— Chad Hicks (@Chad Hicks) 1636477866
One believed the white marking was a “sign”.
@NASAPersevere anyone see that small triangle? i think its a sign.. 😬🤔 https://t.co/Cr3PMlhPF5— Justin #visiting here #Max Verstappen 2021 WC (@Justin #visiting here #Max Verstappen 2021 WC) 1636478178
Another suggested the sighting was definitely “a tiny white alien”, while one joked: “That’s the mouse cursor arrow!!!”

One eagle-eyed user highlighted a second triangle on the right, while another spotted a black hole.
@NASAPersevere While you guys are looking at the triangle, what about this arrow on the right? https://t.co/ShZmDPM6AD— hugh cares (@hugh cares) 1636534337

Another pondered: “Can you turn over large rocks to look underneath them? Something that may not have been disturbed for thousands of years? Who knows what may be under some of them?”

But one realist added: “I don’t really see that same white speck in the 2nd to last photo, even though the other globular white speck at the edge is visible.
“I bet the Perseverence scientists were annotating features of interest but forget to remove this arrow before releasing the pic to the public.”
Alien conspiracies have been around for centuries. In fact, one former US Air Force photographer claimed to have accidentally caught a UFO on camera.
Upon reviewing the footage, he claimed that his seniors summoned him to the office to ask whether he was playing a joke after Dr Robert Jacobs suggested the unidentified object “looked like a UFO.”
His boss abruptly responded, “you are never to say that again, as far as you’re concerned, that never happened,” and subsequently escorted Dr Jacobs to the door. He recalled him saying, “I don’t need to remind you of the seriousness of the security breach. I said no sir,”
“But as I left, he leaned over to speak in my ear, as if to say something the guys in the suits couldn’t hear.”
“He said, ‘lieutenant if you were ever tortured in the future, somebody has you up against the wall and they’re frying your privates with fire, you can tell them this, it was laser tracking.”
“But we never had laser tracking in 1964.”
Spooky.
