Nicola Sturgeon has a lot on her plate at the moment, what with the United Kingdom crumbling around her but the last thing she needed is a headache from a game of swingball.
Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened to the first minister of Scotland on Saturday when she met members of the public in Dennistoun, Glasgow.
She and her SNP colleague Anne McLaughlin were invited to engage in the otherwise harmless game, which has been enjoyed at many a barbecue.
Things soon took a turn for the worse, when McLaughlin served the ball which fired around to the other side of the pole and smacked Sturgeon right in the side of the head.
Sturgeon seemed a little startled by what had happened and in all fairness, it did look a little sore but she seemed to take it in good spirits, which was later confirmed in a jokey tweet.
McLaughlin replied to Sturgeon's tweet with some fighting talk, saying that she plays 'to win these days.'
Unfortunately, the videos did produce a lot of unsavoury comments, including the Labour MP Paul Sweeney, who said that 'whack-a-Sturgeon' is a 'sport I could definitely get behind.'
Sweeney did later apologise to Sturgeon for the tweet, which he has since deleted and even said that she is welcome to hit him next time she is in town.
Thankfully the entire debacle did produce an amusing reply, which came from comedian Janey Godley and one of her now-infamous voiceover videos.
