Ronnie Pickering: The moped driver who didn't know who I am is a 'muppet’

Do you know who Ronnie Pickering is?

The 54-year-old from Hull almost broke the internet on Monday after a video of his "very British roadrage" outburst was widely shared.

In the NSFW clip the former amateur boxer repeatedly asks "Do you know who I am? I'm Ronnie f--king Pickering!" and challenges a moped driver, who is filming him, to a fistfight.

Pickering losing it really tickled the internet's funny bone.

The Hull Daily Mail spoke to Pickering to ask how he felt about new found fame/infamy. It turns out he had a very British apology to make:

I’m sorry, but [the moped driver] was a muppet.

I'd like to apologise for my outburst. He really got to me. I am not an aggressive guy. He was baiting me so I thought I would give him a few of my thoughts.

Pickering said he and his wife were on their way home from Asda when the incident occurred. The moped driver overtook several cars and encroached into his safety gap so he couldn't turn right, Pickering said.

The grandfather of five said he was worried about being labelled a "monster" and would like to talk to the moped driver and "just ask him what it was all about".

That won't stop the internet from gleefully commemorating the moment he lost his temper though. The memes are still coming thick and fast:
