A man confronted Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson at his local fishing store and the outlet was not pleased - despite Carlson urging people to confront people in public just three months prior.

Dan Bailey, the man in question, posted a video of himself on his Instagram approaching Carlson in the store before saying: “You are the worst human being known to mankind. I want you to know that.”

“I appreciate that,” Carlson said flatly, while quietly adding that he’s “not gonna debate.” Carlson appeared to say that he was with his family.

“I don’t care that your daughter’s here,” Bailey continued. Carlson then chuckled once he noticed the camera and told Bailey to “settle down, son.”

“Don’t call me ‘son.’” Bailey responded as he continued walking over to have a chat with Carlson before the video cut out.

Bailey seemed to be proud of this moment, as he wrote, “What an a**hole! This man has killed more people with vaccine misinformation. He has supported extreme racism, he is a fascist and does more to rip this country apart than anyone that calls themselves an American.”

People on Instagram appeared to praise Bailey in the comments of his video for “calling out” Carlson’s behaviour.

“Dan!! Good for you, man. Somebody needs to call out his s***,” someone wrote.

“Yes!!!” exclaimed comedienne Margaret Cho.

Twitter also caught wind of the incident and didn’t seem to have any sympathy for Carlson. Check out some of the tweets below.

“Ambushing Tucker Carlson while he is in a store with his family is totally inexcusable — no public figure should be accosted regardless of their political persuasion or beliefs simply due to the intolerance of another point of view,” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement to Mediaite about the situation.

But as recently as April, Tucker Carlson was encouraging his viewers to confront outdoor mask-wearers and ‘politely but firmly’ as why they are still masking, despite evidence that outdoor transmission is unlikely.

The incident between Bailey and Carlson occurred at Dan Bailey’s Outdoor Company - which has no link to the Dan Bailey in the video.

The company said in a statement: “To be clear, we treat every customer equally and respectfully. Our staff was professional and cordial to Mr. Carlson, as we are with all of our customers.”
