Two Yorkshiremen sit in pub garden to finish their pints despite being waist-deep in floodwater

Two men in Yorkshire have been pictured sat in a pub garden, resolutely finishing their pints despite being waist-deep in floodwater.

Far from being put off by the heavy rain and overflowing River Aire, John Kelly and Steve Hoult, who run the pub in Leeds, decided to make the most of their Sunday afternoon.

Pictured at the Kirkstall Bridge Inn, the pair were photographed by Maria Estibaliz - an organiser of the city's beer festival.

John told i100.co.uk:

We weren't impressed with the river's watery nonsense so we thought we'd just have a pint in our beloved beer garden anyway.

Several passersby also shared their images on Twitter

And they even appeared to have attracted something of a crowd

John told i100.co.uk on Monday:

Flooding has gone now, time for the clean-up and to laugh at some stupid pictures.

Cheers!
