There are a handful of scenarios that could potentially trigger worry when you leave your home unattended. Perhaps, it’s the instant dread of whether you left the hair straighteners on or second-guessing whether you had locked the door – but for one woman, her absence took a surprising turn as she caught her landlord lingering in her bedroom.

Tyisha Macleod (@tyishamacleod) took to TikTok after she made the unfortunate discovery that her landlord had snuck into her room while she was away... to sniff her bedding.

The video captioned, ‘Let’s just say, I’ll be moving and getting out of my lease’, has since gone viral after being viewed over a whopping four million times.

It shows the man walking into the occupant’s bedroom and taking a pillow off her bed. In a bizarre – and not to mention creepy – twist, he stands over the bed for a few seconds and appears to be sniffing the woman’s pillow.

He is then captured, putting the pillow back into place before looking under her duvet. When Trisha confronted the landlord with the video, he told her ‘he was looking for her cat.’

In a follow-up video, Tyisha confirmed she had contacted the police and will be pressing charges, as it wasn’t the first time her landlord had been in her place while she was away.

She told viewers, “I did not give him permission to go into my apartment, let alone go into my room and smell my bed and pillow and see how… good I smell?”

Worried TikTok users flooded the video with concerned comments – many of which said it had happened to them before.

One said, “My old landlord used to do this, so I had to move.”

“I had a sick landlord like that before, thank god I don’t no more”, another added.

While another user joked, “He’s checking for bed bugs, what a good guy.”
