Dad commenting on son's makeup goes viral for all the right reasons

Andrew Edgerton is YouTube makeup artists who despite only uploading his first video to the website nine months ago already has over 3,000 subscribers.

His videos rack up thousands of views but recently he went viral for a whole other reason.

As Andrew was applying the makeup for one of his tutorials ahead of Pride month, his dad, Glenn, happened to stumble across his son applying eyeshadow.

Now, you are probably thinking that this is going to be followed by some cliched father-reaction where he is shocked to see what his boy is up to.

In a testament to Glenn's character, the complete opposite happened and he paid his son the best compliment imaginable.

Glenn says:

That looks so freaking awesome.

To which Andrew replies, "Thank you," before appearing to be a little choked. Aww...

This little clip went viral on Twitter and has been shared over 76,000 times at the time of writing.

According to Andrew these little moments between father and son aren't entirely uncommon. Glenn told BuzzFeed:

I walked past Andrew’s room, and I noticed that he was doing a makeup look.

I peeked my head in and was impressed with the work he had done.

Andrew added:

I was a little shy upon receiving the compliment, however, this is not rare.

My dad is always very supportive of me and my makeup!

Since the clip went viral everyone has been feeling the love that is on display and there were a lot of feels in the replies.

If that wasn't enough, Glenn's reaction to the video going viral was just as touching.

In his interview with BuzzFeed, Glenn highlighted the importance for parents in the LGBT+ community to support their children and their endeavours.

It is important that parents create a safe space for their children, even if at first they are a little bit uncomfortable.

I think his endeavour to work within the makeup industry is awesome and I am just trying to be as supportive as I can.

If this has piqued your interest in Andrew's videos you can still the full tutorial in question in the video below.
