Nigel Farage accused of breaking lockdown to make 'racist' video about immigration

Nigel Farage has been accused of ignoring the government's stay-at-home orders to make a video about migrants coming to the UK during the coronavirus pandemic.

In a short video that the Brexit Party leader ventured to a beach in East Sussex to claim that migrants are now using this route to enter the country, citing reports that 550 people have come into the country since lockdown begun.

Barring that one report, Farage's video seemed a little shy on facts and took the words of a young worker from Hastings as gospel.

The problem here isn't just what Farage is talking about, but the fact that he chose to film this during lockdown and interact with people that he clearly doesn't live with (although it does look like a two-metre distance was adhered to).

Needless to say, the former MEP's video has been ridiculed and criticised as it seems to be a clear violation of the "essential journey" regulations which have been enforced by the government to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The UK was placed under lockdown measures more than a month ago which limits the public to just one essential journey to shops a day and one piece of exercise. Farage has been a critic of the government's coronavirus approach and lockdown since it was implemented.
