Trump sent a man who was duped by Borat to dispute the election for him

On Wednesday, Donald Trump deployed members of his campaign, including Eric Trump and Rudy Giuliani, to Pennsylvania, to dispute the election results in several key states.

At an unprecedented press conference in Philadelphia, both Giuliani and Eric Trump accused the Democrats and Joe Biden of 'cheating' and claimed that the president had won both Pennsylvania and the entire US election – neither of which have been declared at the time of writing.

Eric Trump spoke first claiming that a lawsuit was going to be filed against the state of Pennsylvania calling for an end to vote-counting. He said:

We're going to win Pennsylvania, but they're trying to cheat us out of it because they know it's their only path to victory. We are going to file a suit in Pennsylvania. It is the last thing that we wanted to do, it's the last thing my father wanted to do. But this is rampant corruption. It can’t happen. It’s not fair. This isn’t democracy.

He was followed by Giuliani, who is apparently heading up the legal case for the president. The former mayor of New York City said:

This is beyond anything I have ever seen before. Do you think we're stupid? Do you think we're fools? You know something, Democrats do think you're stupid. And they do think you're fools. That's why you get called 'deplorable' and 'chumps'. We're going to stick with this. We're going to win this election. We've actually won it. It's just a matter of counting the votes fairly.

Neither offered any substantial evidence of cheating by the Democrats but still ranted about it on Twitter.

Eric Trump also had a tweet flagged or inaccuracies after claiming that his father had won Pennsylvania.

It remains to be seen what sort of form this legal challenge will take from Trump but people couldn't help but be amused that Guiliani was the man chosen to head up the case.

Guiliani is a qualified attorney but more recently he was famously duped by comedian and actor Sacha Baron Cohen.

Guiliani made an appearance in Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm where he was interviewed by Maria Bakalova in a hotel room who was disguised as a teenage journalist from Kazakhstan.

This led to Guiliani touching Bakalova and asking for her number before Cohen, dressed as Borat, interrupted him.

People couldn't help but bring up this compromising and embarrassing moment for Guilaini and question why Trump would choose someone who was so easily fooled by a pair of actors to head up a major legal case.

After their press conference in Philadelphia, Giuliani was asked by Sky News to show evidence of the Democrats' supposed fraud, but claimed that he would only show it in court.

As it stands, Joe Biden is just six electoral college votes away from being able to call himself the president-elect, after successfully flipping key states like Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona which he's predicted to win.
