A couple married for 57 years made a wonderful Notebook-inspired photo shoot

Clemma and Sterling Elmore have been married for 57 years. They tied the knot just four months after they met and have pretty much had a fairytale romance ever since.

It was actually Clemma who proposed to Sterling. After hearing a man proposing to a woman on a radio show, Clemma repeated the question - and they got married the following weekend. They went on to have two children together and will celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary in February.

The couple decided to do a Notebook-inspired photo shoot in character as Noah and Allie last weekend to share with family.

It was their granddaughter-in-law Stacy Welch-Christ, of Mary Evelyn Photography, who came up with the idea for the shoot - she says the couple have seen the film twice and love it.

Stacy told BuzzFeed:

It started as an idea suggested by a friend to take photos of Clemma and Sterling. I then thought the Notebook theme would fit them perfectly because they have such sweet love. It makes my heart happy to be able to give them these memories.

And keeping with The Notebook theme, it also included some of the love letters they had sent each other over the years and they used their own vintage truck.

Clemma and Sterling told ABC News that the secret to their happy marriage is putting God first, respecting each other, and working at their relationship.

They added:

We never fail to tell each other, probably 10 times a day, ‘I love you.’

Stacy’s sweet photos of Clemma and Sterling have been shared more than 50,000 times since she posted them on Facebook.
