But you only realise your mistake when the waiter brings the bill, which shows the bottle cost $13,000.
So it becomes a funny anecdote that you tell later down the line – rather than a source of crippling regret and financial ruin.
It turns out that Chrissy Teigen and John Legend can relate too.
The cookbook author popped over to Twitter to ask her fans: “What’s the most expensive thing you’ve eaten that you thought sucked?”
In answer to her own question, the Cravings author and television personality relayed the story to her followers:
