Sarah Palin has parted company with Fox News for the second time in as many years.
The 51-year-old former governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee had provided commentary on politics and American life for the network. Yesterday, the channel said it was not renewing her contract and that the separation was "amicable".
It is not the first time the pair have cut ties.Fox News signed Palin as a commentator in 2010 at a time when her star shone brightly from a memorable vice presidential run. The contract was reportedly worth $1m a year, a salary that made her the highest-paid pundit at the highest-rated channel in cable news. Three years later her contract ended.
In June 2013, she returned to Fox News as a paid contributor.
