Jeremy Clarkson will not have his contract renewed following a "fracas" with a Top Gear producer, the BBC confirmed today.

Driving a Toyota into a horse chestnut tree

This incident happened in a Somerset car park in 2003. The BBC apologised to the council afterwards.

Saying this about HIV:

From his 2005 book The World According to Jeremy Clarkson: "HIV, remember, is another pathetic virus. It can only live for twenty seconds in the air, it travels from person to person only if they engage in vigorous sex and it takes ten years to do to a person what Ebola manges to do in ten days."

Giving a Nazi salute

Clarkson gave a Nazi salute during a December 2005 episode of Top Gear and said a German car's sat nav "only goes to Poland".

In 2009, Clarkson told Top Gear magazine that BBC bosses were obsessed with hiring "black Muslim lesbians". He said: “The problem is that television executives have got it into their heads that if one presenter on a show is a blonde-haired, blue-eyed heterosexual boy, the other must be a black Muslim lesbian."

Joking about murdering prostitutes

In 2008, Clarkson's 'joke' about lorry drivers murdering prostitutes attracted more than 1,000 complaints to the BBC.

Joking about murdering public sector workers

During a strike in 2011, Clarkson said of public sector workers: “I’d have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families.”

Branding Mexicans 'feckless'

In 2011 the BBC was forced to apologise to the Mexican ambassador over remarks made in an episode of Top Gear. In the episode itself, Clarkson predicted they would not get complaints because "at the Mexican embassy, the ambassador is going to be sitting there with a remote control like this [snores]. They won't complain, it's fine".

Mocking disabled people

In 2012 Clarkson compared a Japanese car to people with growths on their faces, breaching BBC guidelines.

Asking Nelson Mandela if he had ever had a lap dance

According to Mandela's PA Zelda La Grange, this happened in a 2010 meeting in South Africa.

'Not quite good enough' N-word efforts

In May 2014, the Daily Mirror claimed Clarkson had mumbled "catch a n##### by his toe" when reciting the nursery rhyme "eeny, meeny, miny, mo" in un-aired Top Gear footage. Clarkson denied doing so, saying he had tried his hardest not to make the remark or use the word but his efforts “obviously weren't good enough”.

Being chased by an angry mob

In October 2014 the cast and crew of Top Gear were forced out of Argentina by a mob angry over a number plate they deemed to reference the Falklands War. A Porsche used by the team had the registration H982 FKL - which some suggested was a reference to the 1982 Falklands conflict.
