Mike Huckabee is a former Republican governor for Arkansas turned Fox News host, turned politician again.
He's just written a book called God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy in which he takes aim at the most powerful celebrity in the world - Beyoncé - and her husband Jay-Z.
Not only does he allege that Jay-Z has "arguably crossed the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object" but he also criticises Beyoncé for "obnoxious and toxic mental poison in the form of song lyrics" and choreography "best left for the privacy of her bedroom".
To take the attack to a new level, the Republican also said in a recent interview with People magazine that Barack and Michelle Obama should not let their daughters - Sasha and Malia - listen to Beyoncé's songs.
I don't understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything – how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school and making sure they're kind of sheltered and shielded from so many things – and yet they don't see anything that might not be suitable for either a preteen or a teen in some of the lyrical content and choreography of Beyoncé, who has sort of a regular key to the door [of the White House].
- Mike Huckabee
Although he lost resoundingly in the Republican caucuses in the build-up to the 2008 presidential race, Huckabee left Fox at the beginning of this month to explore the possibility of standing again in 2016.
Talking of mental poison and choreography best left to the bedroom, here's Huckabee performing a weird, some would say sexually-charge, song with Ted Nugent which features the lyrics:
Well, I make the pussy purr with the stroke of my hand They know they gettin’ it from me They know just where to go when they need their lovin’ man They know I’m doin’ it for free
More: Mitt Romney can't even convince this man to support him
