Cheerio, Dave. These were the 20 worst things you did as prime minister

Cheerio, Dave. These were the 20 worst things you did as prime minister

David Cameron has announced he will stand down as prime minister before October following the UK electorate's decision to leave the European Union.

The Conservative leader said he was "very proud and very honoured" to have been prime minister but that it was "not right" for him to carry on following the referendum result.

We must now prepare for a renegotiation with the EU. Above all this will require strong, determined and committed leadership.

I think the country requires fresh leadership to take it in that direction.

Well, it's been an inglorious six years, Mr Cameron. Here were your worst bits:

When you promised to lead the 'greenest government ever' and then did anything but

When you referred to human beings escaping war, poverty and destitution as a 'swarm'

When you decided that austerity was the best way to lead the country out of recession

Which was bad.

When you said this

And then pandered to the right-wing of your party because of this guy and announced a referendum

Then refused to debate him properly

Which then led to Brexit and £122bn being wiped off the FTSE 100 within minutes of the markets opening on Friday

When you told a female MP to 'calm down, dear'

When you screwed over disabled people - and then realised you were wrong

Every naff joke you ever told at PMQs

When you tried a Yorkshire accent

And then a Scottish one

When you stood with your legs like this

What was that all about?

Oh, and that's not to mention scrapping child poverty targets, cutting working tax credits, cutting benefits for asylum seekers, scrapping maintenance grants for students, increasing tuition fees, clamping down on trade unions and lowering the benefit cap - affecting the poorest in society.
