Warning: This article contains spoilers for Game of Thrones, Episode 6, Season 8.

Meghan McCain has managed to annoy her co-hosts on the US television show The View, after she dropped some big-time Game of Thrones spoilers live on air.

And what, you may ask, was the spoiler that McCain so elegantly dropped right at the beginning of the segment about Game of Thrones?

Only exactly what happens at the end of the series!

Goldberg opened the segment by saying:

Apparently we’re at the ends of a giant era of pop culture.

It came to close last night with the series finale of “’Game of Thrones,’ and this morning there are actually counsellors you can reach out to if you’re having a hard time with it.

Anybody having a tough time?

In response, McCain said that she was less than impressed by the series, adding:

Yes, yes.

I spent eight years of my life watching this and it was horrible. Horrible. Bran is the worst. Sorry that’s a spoiler. He didn’t do anything and now he gets to rule?

It should have been the mother of dragons.

Co-host Sonny Hostin looked shocked, and the audience collectively gasped, before Hostin said:

Meghan, I'm only on season four!

She then threw up her hands in exasperation, closely followed by Whoopi Goldberg, who actually stood up from the table and pretended to walk out in disgust.

Joy Bhar, on the other hand, was less worried. She simply sat there laughing and said:

I'm on season zero.

McCain was unfazed, however, and she doubled down on her spoilers, adding:

As a dedicated fan, who watched live last night, like everyone’s supposed to, OK? It was terrible.

I’m so disappointed.

She then continued to mock the audience for being upset at her spoilers:

I’m sorry you guys are so triggered by me telling the ending.

You guys are, like, genuinely upset.

However, despite being unrepentant on the actual show, the Republican later took to Twitter to issue an apology. In a tweet, she wrote:

I'm so sorry for the #GOT spoilers on the show today! I assumed every diehard fan had watched! My bad. Don’t watch west coast if you don’t want a spoiler.

While some told her that there was no need to apologise...

Others weren't as forgiving.

The smash-hit HBO series wrapped up on Sunday evening in the United States and saw Brandon Stark crowned as Lord of the Six Kingdoms, much to may avid fans' disappointment.
