These are the countries that search for sex toys the most

This post contains lots of naughty words and NSFW language, obviously.

There are a lot of long, cold nights in the Nordic countries, which might be why they shop for sex toys more than anyone else.

New research from VoucherCloudhas found which countries Google sex-toys the most.

The top three are all Nordic countries, first, second and third are Denmark, Sweden and Greenland respectively.

The UK ranks fifth, just behind the US.

The rest of the top 10 include the Netherlands, Russia, Bulgaria, Italy and Australia.

The full list of terms was made up from Lovehoney'sbest-selling products.

Vouchercloud looked at 18 popular sex toy search terms - from the relatively mundane 'sexy costumes', 'dildos' and 'vibrators' to your 'jiggle balls' and 'cock rings' - and translated them into every Google-available language in order to rank every country by their sex toy searches. They are:

118​ ​of​ ​these​ ​sex toy searches​ ​are​ ​seen​ ​for​ ​every​ ​1,000​ ​internet​ ​searches​ ​each​ ​year​ ​in​ ​Denmark​, which is ​more​ ​than​ ​one​ ​search​ ​for​ ​every​ ​ten​ ​residents​ ​–​ ​with​ ​Sweden​ ​(115),​ ​Greenland​ ​(108),​ ​USA (104)​ ​and​ ​UK​ ​(96)​.

France, a country known for romance, ranked surprisingly low (15th). Other "poor performances" came from​ ​Germany (65)​ ​lingering​ ​in​ ​22nd​ ​place,​ ​and​ ​Japan​ ​(44)​ ​falling​ ​far​ ​behind​ ​in​ ​a​ ​lowly​ ​43rd​.

Chris Johnson, Head of Operations at Vouchercloud, commented:

A somewhat unique dataset has revealed some truly interesting findings surrounding global love-making. We’re a little surprised that the UK has offered an extremely strong showing, particularly with such reserved English stereotypes.

However, the Nordic nations have definitely put the rest of the world to shame. There’s more than one way to deal with the cold, after all!
