A person whose friend survived the Las Vegas massacre is reminding us how important it is to tell your friends you love them.

The mass shooting in Las Vegas this week left 58 people dead and over 500 injured.

This Imgur user shared screenshots of text messages with a friend who could have very easily been one of the victims.

They titled the post:

Tell your friend you love them. I almost made a huge mistake.

In the caption, they wrote:

I'm just so happy her and her husband are ok and I'm able to give her a hug tomorrow. Please just take a moment to tell your family and friends how much you love them today. I almost made one of the biggest mistakes of my life tryna be funny. Also, it took 20 minutes to get that return text about them being ok. I haven't had a panic attack like that in years waiting to hear they were ok.

The post reminds us of the important things in life.

Many urged the uploader not to feel bad, though.

Imgur user Gyinagal pointed out:

There's lots of ways to say "I love you". In this case it was "eat sh*t"

And user Sheprador said:

When I send rude things to my BFF, that's our way of saying "I love you." We both know and understand this.

Whatever your take, there is no harm in saying those three words a little more often.
