Ten things that will suddenly make you feel really old

James Franco is 38 today. Happy Birthday, James.

The news caused a member of indy100 staff to lose their proverbial, so we decided to compile a list of things that will make you feel old.

We're gluttons for punishment, we know.

1. People born on 19 April 1998 can drink now

That's right, they just turned 18.

The Truman Show and Saving Private Ryan was released when they were on and two months old, respectively.

Bob the Builder began when they were six months old.

2. Films released 20 years ago

Mission Impossible, Trainspotting, Happy Gilmore, Independence Day, Fargo, Matilda, Romeo and Juliet.

3. You visit this website

Type in your age and it'll churn out a list of others' achievements which will make you feel completely without purpose or talent.

4. Neymar

Five years ago today, having just turned 19, the Brazilian international had already made 3 appearances and scored three goals for his country.

In the next five years he'd go on to score 43 more and play 67 more games, signing for Barcelona - arguably the best team in the world - in the meantime.

Where he's also notched 52 goals in 88 appearances.

5. There are 14 year olds now who were born after 9/11

If they're older than 14 years, 7 months and eight days, they're part of a generation that simply weren't around to witness it on the news.

6. The Chilcott Inquiry is 8 years and 10 months old

In around about a months' time, we will be further away to the date it started than that date is to the day Google was founded in Menlo Park, California.

7. Ellie Simmonds

She won two gold medals at the 2008 paralympics in Beijing and two golds in the 2012 Olympics in London.

She turns 22 in November.
