Alex Macheras isn’t your average 20-year-old.

While most of us spend this stage of our lives slaving away at a degree we’re not sure we want, or working an entry-level job that pays enough money to get you out of your parents’ house in five years’ time – Macheras is travelling the world in style.

Macheras gets to explore the world flying empty planes to make sure the service, food and champagne is up to standard. He tests out every seat on the cabin, including first class.

He developed an interest in aviation as a child, and even took flying lessons. By the age of 14, he was approached by LBC radio to give analysis on the aviation industry. By the time he was 16, Macheras was appearing on Sky News and other networks.

He now works with manufacturers as they deliver new planes, and takes part in flight tests.

And he still appears regularly on TV.

Of course, Macheras still manages to enjoy the time he gets on the ground between flights.
