A map of the United States made with toy guns

Every year more than 30,000 people are fatally shot in America. Brooklyn based artist Michael Murphy had that toll in mind when he created this installation, which shows a map of America made with 130 toy guns. When you walk near the piece, it loses its distinctive shape.

"It is intended to stimulate conversation about guns and gun related issues," he says. "Through this conversation, it is my hope that people will think more critically about their stance on this topic."
