How could anyone forget 'nipplegate'? In 2004, Janet Jackson accidentally exposed one of her nipples while performing at the Super Bowl with Justin Timberlake, and needless to say, it caused uproar.
Now, however, eagle-eyed Super Bowl fans have taken to Twitter to decry the fact that the lead singer of Maroon 5, Adam Levine, also exposed his nipples while performing at the Super Bowl, but that for some reason that's completely fine.
During his performance, the artist ripped off his tank top to expose his torso, and, needless to say, people aren't impressed. Many took to Twitter to clarify that they weren't necessarily criticising that Levine had removed his top, but more the reaction that Jackson received when her breast was exposed in an accidental 'wardrobe' malfunction in 2004.
People were quick to point out the double standards.
