Americans have discovered Lidl and Europeans are highly amused.
A TikTok video that shows a user discovering the popular German international discount supermarket that has recently made its way to the US has gone viral, amassing more than 700,000 views on the app and 2 million views on Twitter.
“So much actually fresh bread and pastries!” the video says. “Every week they sell cheap random things!”
“why are you excited for lidl... imagine them in tesco's,” one Twitter user said.
“Calm down- we don’t have Lidl in America,” @vyetnemese said jokingly in her Tik Tok bio.
Lidl started opening up stores in America in 2017. Cearly, they were right in thinking it would be a good business choice.
