Black Lives Matter protests continue across America.

In Austin, Texas, one person has been killed after several shots were fired into a protest against racism and police brutality on Saturday.

Terrifying footage captured during a Facebook Live showed the moment when several shots were fired into the group of around 100 protesters.

Medics reportedly performed CPR on a man who was shot. During a press briefing held around midnight on Sunday, Austin Police Department Officer Katrina Ratcliff said the victim died shortly after being taken to hospital. No other people were shot and the suspect was arrested.

Distressing footage from the protest shows protesters running and screaming as gunshots can be heard. Eyewitnesses say that the suspect is male.

Protests against racism and police brutality were sparked worldwide following the May killing of George Floyd, who died in police custody in Minneapolis. Floyd died after a white police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes while detaining him.
