Jailed burglar goes viral for uncanny resemblance to Boris Johnson

A career burglar, who has 210 convictions to his name, has captured the internet’s imagination due to this uncanny resemblance to Boris Johnson.

43-year-old Jason Watson has been jailed again this week, less than a month on from his last stint in prison after he was caught with £1,280 down his trousers.

Watson, along with his accomplice Adrian Awty, reportedly targetted the House of Panini cafe, in Prospect Street, Hull where they made off with a staff member's handbag containing the aforementioned cash as well keys, bank cards and a pair of Vivienne Westwood earrings.

However, despite their crimes, it's Watson's appearance that has caused a stir on social media with many stunned at his remarkable resemblance to the prime minister – complete with his shaggy mop of blonde hair.

When prosecuting the pair, recorder Megan Rhys of Hull Crown Court said that they both had “appalling records" and warned them that unless they changed their behaviour then they would both receive longer prison sentences and potentially spend most of their lives in and out of prison.

"This offence is so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified,' added Rhys who handed them both a 10-month sentence on Tuesday.
