Boris Johnson's clapping confuses people as he is elected Conservative leader

Boris Johnson has just been elected as leader of the Conservative Party, meaning he'll be prime minister tomorrow, and many Twitter users have noticed his strange clapping.

During a press conference, Dame Cheryl Gillian, a member of the 1922 Committee, announced that of the 159,320 people eligible to vote, 87.4 per cent turned out, with 92,153 voting for Johnson, and 46,656 plumping for Jeremy Hunt, the foreign secretary.

During the announcement, however, many people couldn't help but notice Boris Johnson's bizarre clapping.

Most thought it was just straight-up strange.

This absolutely isn't the first time Johnson has done something strange, but we wonder if it's enough to qualify for his 'greatest ever moments'?
