Busker drowns out 'hate preacher' in the most patriotic way

A busker in St. Andrews has been praised for playing bagpipes loudly over an unwelcome street preacher.

The footage, captured by Lachie Blair, was posted to the Overheard in St Andrews Facebook page and subsequently posted to YouTube.

The Courier reports that locals said it was almost impossible to understand what he was saying, but that it seemed aggressive.

The people beside the fountain in Market Street seemed to be grateful for the presence of the bagpiper, given the cheers upon his arrival and enthusiastic rendition of 'Scotland the Brave'.

Lachie said the piper won the noise battle “in the most Scottish way possible”, over the man who he described as "hate preacher" on Facebook.
